Through this unique series, we celebrate creativity and innovation in the arts, empowering these emerging artists to flourish. We’re excited to contribute to such a meaningful cultural initiative.”

“We are delighted to host the Honeywell Arts Academy Concert Series again at the Columbia Club,” said Molly Richardson, Assistant General Manager at the Columbia Club. “This event aligns perfectly with our commitment to supporting local community involvement opportunities throughout Indianapolis. We look forward to providing a vibrant space where emerging artists can shine and connect with new audiences. It’s an honor to support the arts in this way and be part of these artists’ journeys.”

“Richard Edwin Ford was a dedicated member of the Columbia Club for nearly four decades and a true pillar of Indiana’s cultural and philanthropic community,” said Anne Hathaway, President of the Columbia Club. “His passion for music, historic preservation, and civic service left a legacy that continues to enrich lives across our state. The Honeywell Arts Academy Concert Series reflects the very ideals Richard championed—artistry, education, and community; and we are proud to support this meaningful series in his honor. The Columbia Club has stood proudly on Monument Circle for over a century and remains deeply committed to downtown Indianapolis and cultural programs that enhance the vitality of our city. We are always seeking meaningful ways to give back, and this concert series, made possible through our partnership with the Academy and First Farmers Bank & Trust, gives us the opportunity to do just that. Welcoming young, world-class talent into our historic space not only honors Richard’s legacy, but brings credit to all involved and joy to the community we serve.”

Honeywell Arts Academy is comprised of a summer intensive program and year-round support for emerging musicians. Led by Artistic Director Ranaan Meyer of the GRAMMY-winning group Time for Three and world-renowned faculty, the summer program takes place in June in Wabash, Indiana, and culminates in live performances featuring participants and faculty. The Academy is designed to provide the future generation of musicians with the opportunity to learn from one another, push boundaries, and connect with both local and industry communities, with world-renowned faculty to propel their artistry forward and springboard their careers.

This music series carries the torch of Richard Ford, whose passion for great music and young talent helped spark the founding of Honeywell Arts Academy. For more information about the Academy, please visit honeywellartsacademy.org.

Artistic Director

Ranaan Meyer

Artistic Director of Honeywell Arts Academy, Ranaan Meyer, is a GRAMMY-winning, Emmy-winning, and Gold record double bassist and a founding member and performer with the string trio Time for Three.

During Meyer's final lesson with mentor Hal Robinson (also an Academy faculty mentor), he asked what he could do to pay back the incredible wisdom he had gained over the years. Robinson responded 'simply pay it forward.'

This was a thought that Meyer carried with him as Eric Larson, Meyer, and Robinson came together to dream up an ideal double bass program. In 2008 this collective vision became a reality with the following principles

  • Top-level musicians and individuals

  • Full scholarship for everyone who attends

  • A philosophy called  “sharing of knowledge”

Meyer says, "The 'sharing of knowledge' philosophy creates a foundation that empowers everyone to learn from one another. Through research, we identified this is not always the educational foundation everyone has experienced."  This shared philosophy supports the vision of Honeywell Arts Academy to enrich the opportunity for artistic ambassadors to advance human connection.
